State Highway One north of Putaruru remains closed after a serious crash in south Waikato

NZ Transport says a detour is in place for southbound traffic via State Highway Five and State Highway 28 Whites Rd, before rejoining State Highway One.

Northbound traffic should take the same route in reverse.

Six people were injured in the accident between two cars, two are in a critical condition.
