    Women's fourth seed Simona Halep has powered into the third round at the Australian Open in Melbourne


    The Romanian has seen off British qualifier Harriet Dart in straight sets 6-2 6-4 in one hour and 17 minutes.

    Halep says there were a few nervy moments, however.



    Angelique Kerber and Elina Svitolina are also through to the next round.

    Rafael Nadal, Nick Kyrgios and Gaels Monfils are men's winners.
