    It's been revealed a Dunedin teen who disappeared into the sea on Thursday was cliff diving with friends


    Police say they're now looking for the body of 14-year-old Vinnie Beecroft - who failed to return to shore of St Clair beach on Thursday.

    His family has spoken out for the first time today.

    Kathy Peters says Vinnie had been with a group of friends - having school-holiday fun in the water.

    She says when he got into difficulty at Second Cliff - their efforts to help him were truly heroic.
