    Frontline police officers have seen an increase in gun violence within gangs across the country


    In under a year, 600 guns were seized by Auckland police officers.

    Police Association president, Chris Cahill says the longer nothing changes, the closer we get to a permanent armed police force.

    He says the rising figures are why New Zealand needs a national gun register.
