Auckland Council's promising its bed tax will be fair

It follows the High Court's dismissal of a bid for a judicial review of the Accommodation Provider Targeted Rate.

Mayor Phil Goff says it's only fair those benefiting from ratepayer funded tourism, pay their fair share.

He says the industry benefits from tourism events which bring in thousands of visitor bed nights to the city.
