An apology to the family of a man who was discharged and dumped at a bus stop by the Canterbury District Health Board

The Health and Disability Commissioner found the CDHB breached health and disability rights - when it prematurely discharged a man still ill with alcoholic hepatitis.
He was left for hours at a bus stop in hospital pyjamas - and was later returned to hospital, where he died two-days later.
DHB chief executive, David Meates , says he's personally apologised to the man's family for the board's failure in care.
He says they've improved processes to reduce the chances of something like this happening again.
