It will be some time before efforts to increase teacher supply, are felt in schools

There are 475 teaching vacancies for primary, intermediate and secondary school advertised in the Education Gazette, up from 370 last month.
Education Minister Chris Hipkins has acknowledged teacher supply is tight.. and there hasn't been enough teachers trained in the last decade to keep up with demand.
He says they're now increasing the number of teachers they're training, but it's a three to four year process to train them.
That means it will take some time to flow through for schools to be able to employ them.
