Police are appealing for information -- as investigations continue into a police pursuit that ended in a fatal shooting in Tauranga

A patrol car was left riddled with bullets and 33-year-old Anthony John Fane died at the scene, after officers investigating a double murder in McLaren Falls two days earlier - attempted to stop his car.

Police are hoping to speak with a couple walking on Bethlehem Road near Tamatea Arikinui Drive about 7.45pm last Thursday.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information should also get in touch.
