    Dame Valerie Adams is managing to see the positive side to a second-place finish at the Sir Graeme Douglas International track and field meet in Auckland


    The two-time Olympic Games gold medalist has managed a best throw of 18.73 metres, with Canadian Sarah Mitton claiming the win with 18.84.



    Tom Walsh has claimed the men's shot put with a best throw of 21.66 - 1.95 metres better than second.

    Nick Willis has pipped Australian Rorey Hunter in a sprint finish in the men's 1500 metres, while young-Kiwi sprinter Edward Osei-Nketia has won the men's 100 metres.
