A "pass" for four police officers accused of using excessive force removing a man from hospital
25 February 2020
Officers transported the man from Tauranga Hospital in March 2018 - and the Independent Police Conduct Authority's found they acted appropriately.
He had drug-induced medical issues two days earlier and was under police guard until he recovered - but violently resisted once discharged.
It's been decided the officers acted fairly because of the risk the man posed, but failed to communicate their removal plan with hospital staff.
