The lawyer for 34-year-old Ephraim Beazley is asking for a shorter non-parole period.
Beazley last year admitted to murdering ex-wife, Xi Wang , at her Flat Bush home in December 2018.
He was sentenced to life in prison, with a 17-year minimum non-parole period.
Today in the Court of Appeal, his lawyer called the sentence 'manifestly unjust' -- given murdering Wang was a 'snap decision'.
The Court of Appeal has reserved its judgment.
