Waiheke residents are being urged to check on their neighbours as water shortages bite

Prolonged dry weather in the Auckland region has been putting pressure on water supplies for rural residents who use tanks.
More than 30 re-filling stations have been set up for affected residents, including two on Waiheke Island.
But Waiheke Local Board deputy chairperson Bob Upchurch says some locals are struggling to collect water from re-filling stations.
He says in these situations everyone in the community should be looking out for each other.
