NIWA's climate outlook summary for the next three months shows above average temperatures across much of the country, with little rainfall predicted in the coming weeks.
NIWA Principal Scientist, Chris Brandolino says we need some wet weather, but too much at once could cause flooding.
He says if we're going to get some meaningful rain, it may come from a tropical cyclone during the mid-Autumn period.
