Jacinda Ardern's due to try make moves on Australia's forced deportation of New Zealanders

Jacinda Ardern's due to try make moves on Australia's forced deportation of New Zealanders

She's meeting with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison today and the deportation issue's expected to be high on the agenda.

Political editor Barry Soper is in Sydney and says a contentious point is dictating who should be responsible for the deportee criminals.

He says Ardern's labelled it corrosive to our relationship.

He says it highlights what rights Kiwis are missing in Australia.

Soper says Australians in New Zealand are Kiwis after 10 years - and aren't expected to go back across the ditch after any jail time.
