A well placed concrete mixer has helped police stop a driver fleeing in a stolen Range Rover

A well placed concrete mixer has helped police stop a driver fleeing in a stolen Range Rover

The vehicle was taken near Riverhead, north-west of Auckland, just after 1pm.

Police units monitored it from a distance, and the Eagle helicopter was called in to track it from above.

Road spikes were successfully used to slow the vehicle, before it collided with a concrete truck in Kumeu.

No one has been hurt, and one male driver was taken into custody.
