3 March 2020
In February last year, Reginald Ozanne entered a paddock - and stabbed Star the miniature horse multiple times.
Star originally escaped - and was given emergency treatment, but died two days later.
Appearing in the Dunedin District Court today, Ozanne pleaded guilty to wilfully ill-treating an animal.
He had earlier vehemently denied any responsibility.
He's been remanded in custody and will be sentenced in May.
