The Dunedin doctor who slashed a teen's throat, killing her, has been jailed for a minimum of 19 years

Venod Skantha was previously found guilty of murdering 16-year-old Amber-Rose Rush as she lay in bed - in early 2018.
In the High Court in Dunedin , Justice Gerald Nation has sentenced Skantha to life with a minimum of 19 years without parole.
Skantha will also serve four concurrent, year-long sentences on charges of threatening to kill.
