Four pygmy killer whales stranded on Waipu Cove last night - and three were re-floated but the fourth had to be put down.
A Department of Conservation spokesperson says two were found back on the beach this morning, and because of their deteriorating health, they will be euthanised.
A whale died yesterday after stranding on Moureeses Bay beach near Whangarei.
