While a potential "countback" system would work in New Zealand's favour for Olympic qualification, quad rower Isaac Grainger would rather compete on the water

The Coronavirus has seen two World Cup regattas in Italy canned, and could potentially impact May's "regatta of death" in Lucerne , which is the last chance effort for the men's quad and eight boats to qualify for Tokyo.
Should that happen, one measure to decide the final qualifiers is results from last year's World Championships, which bodes well for the kiwis.
But Grainger prefers competition.
