The Utah Jazz's Rudy Gobert has tested positive for the virus, forcing the Jazz and Steven Adams' Oklahoma City Thunder's game to be postponed minutes before tip-off.
Both teams are in quarantine and will be tested.
Boston, New York, Cleveland, Detroit and Toronto's teams are all in self isolation, as they played Gobert and the Jazz in the past fortnight.
ESPN's Rachel Nichols says the decision to stop all games indefinitely has shocked players.
