Let us train, or we won't get on the plane

Let us train, or we won't get on the plane

That's the message from the Wellington Phoenix who have delayed their flights to Australia to complete the A-League football season.

The club is wanting assurances they can train during the enforced two-weeks isolation required by the Australian government for anyone entering the country.

CEO David Dome says they simply won't go if they can't train.

One player getting infected by coronavirus could see the whole ANZ netball premiership shudder to a halt.

Netball New Zealand expect an inevitable financial impact with matches now played behind closed doors due to the pandemic.

Chief executive Jennie Wyllie says they're bracing for worse if the illness strikes.

School Sport New Zealand is defending its decision to suspend all events on its national calendar as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.

One of the biggest school events in the Southern Hemisphere, rowing's Maadi Cup on Lake Ruataniwha is affected.

The decision will be reviewed on April 6.

CEO Gary Carnachan says organisations right across the board were aligned on the need to do something.
