Banks and the Consumer Affairs Minister are being urged to do more to encourage retailers to use contact-less payment systems to limit the spread of Covid-19

Retail New Zealand CEO, Greg Harford, says merchants are paying Paywave fees of one to more than five percent per transaction, which adds up.
He says the banks set the fees and it's up to them how much money they're trying to recover.
Harford says the organisation's been calling for more transparency and greater oversight of merchant fees for some time.
He says that's something Kris Faafoi is supposed to be keeping an eye on.
