Calls for shovel-ready council projects to be put back into play

Calls for shovel-ready council projects to be put back into play

The Auckland Business Chamber says there are ready-to-go transport and water projects which could be funded and added to the coronavirus recovery action plan.

Chief Executive Michael Barnett suggests the Government give consideration to funding the local projects to help stimulate a fast-track recovery.

He says there's no reason why they shouldn't bring the projects forward -- and accelerate them so they have something for the construction centre to use and maintain their workforce.
