Football Federation Australia has announced it is shutting its doors indefinitely, following the NRL which shutdown on Sunday night.
Japan's government is negotiating with the International Olympic Committee to postpone the Tokyo Olympic Games by a maximum one year.
The Sankei newspaper says Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will hold talks over the phone with IOC President Thomas Bach later today.
Hurricanes co-captain Dane Coles concedes it's inevitable he and the rest of New Zealand's professional rugby players will have to take pay cuts.
New Zealand Rugby are expected to take a big financial hit and have suspended all forms of the game following the government's lifting of the coronavirus alert status to level 4 from tomorrow night.
Coles says it's understandable given how things have progressed.
