Eliza McCartney knows she will be better off than some due to the postponement of the Olympic Games

Eliza McCartney knows she will be better off than some due to the postponement of the Olympic Games

The 2016 bronze medal-winning pole vaulter was hampered by achilles and hamstring injuries early this Olympic cycle, before discovering she had a genetic disorder and autoimmune inflammation, which affects tendons.

McCartney acknowledges the extra time will be beneficial for her.

However, McCartney very much appreciates most athletes will be feeling devastated at this time.
