    Water restrictions are still in place in the Far North as it struggles with drought


    NIWA reports rain across the North Island last week took some pressure off drought-stricken areas.

    But Far North Mayor John Carter says the rain they've had hasn't been enough to make a significant difference.

    He says people should continue to restrict their water use and look after others.
