Queenstown's Mayor is urging Kiwis to obey lockdown rules, to prevent community outbreak

Queenstown's Mayor is urging Kiwis to obey lockdown rules, to prevent community outbreak

Last night Police were called to a backpacker party in the town, spilling out of Deco Backpackers near Rotary Park.

About 25 people have been staying at the hostel, for around three weeks.

Queenstown Lakes District Mayor Jim Boult says he's asked Police to be strict with people.

He says not everyone is taking it seriously - and he's had enough.
