A teen killer who went unpunished for 16 years has again been denied parole

A teen killer who went unpunished for 16 years has again been denied parole

Jarrod Mangles was 15 in 1987 - when he strangled his Arrowtown neighbour, Maureen McKinnel, and dumped her naked body under Arrow River bridge.

The case went unsolved until 2003, when his DNA was matched to that found under McKinnel's fingernails.

He was sentenced to life in prison, with a minimum non-parole period of 10 years.

Mangles was last month refused parole - the sixth time since 2013.

He'll have another hearing next March.
