Director of Public Health, Doctor Caroline (LINE) McElnay (MACKLE-nay), says a woman in her 90s died yesterday, at Burwood Hospital in Christchurch.
The woman passed away without family by her side, due to the Covid-19 lockdown restrictions.
She was one of 20 residents transferred from Rosewood Rest Home earlier this week.
The woman had a number of age-related health conditions and had recently returned a positive test.
