The postponement of the Tokyo Olympics will allow doped athletes initially banned from the Games, to compete.

The International Olympic Committee last month moved the event from July this year to July next year because of Covid 19.

Athletics Integrity Unit head Brett Clothier told Reuters stopping those athletes from competing next year, would lead to legal implications.

The Wellington Phoenix are coming to terms with the fact their excellent A-League football season might count for nothing.

Football Federation Australia Chief Executive James Johnson says the competition won't resume without approval from all state and federal health agencies.

The Phoenix were third on the table and on track for their best ever finish.

Striker David Ball says it's a strange feeling not playing.
