A woman in her 70s died last night at Waitakere Hospital in west Auckland, taking the total to 18.
She had been transferred there from CHT St Margaret's Hospital and Rest Home in Te Atatu.
Meanwhile, New Zealand has five new cases of Covid-19.

The Ministry of Health says three have been linked to aged residential facilities - one in Auckland, and two in Christchurch, while the fourth case is linked to a smaller Waikato cluster.
