Senior Sergeant Paul Robertson says one call-out was in Waimakariri and the other in Peraki on Banks Peninsula.
Mr Robertson says a man's been charged with breaching the Health Notice and will appear in the Christchurch District Court over the Waimakariri incident.
Police, Fire and Emergency and a helicopter were called to the Waimakariri River island near Canterbury's Darfield around 10am.
It's unclear how the man got to the island but the alarm was raised when he couldn't back because of rising water levels.
The second man was rescued from rocks near the beach area at Robin Hood Bay Road in Peraki about 9.15.
Under Alert Level 3 any outdoor activity should be low risk and in your local area.
