Concerns gun owners have had their property rights extinguished

The Council of Licenced Firearms Owners is in the High Court in Wellington, seeking a review of the government's gun law reform.
Herald reporter Melissa Nightingale says the council's lawyer, Jack Hodder, was in court yesterday arguing that the council wants to see the reasoning behind why certain types of ammunition were prohibited.
She says his main point was that the decision to ban certain ammo without compensation, was not properly thought through, and didn't enhance public safety.
The hearing continues today.
