Rugby and netball have wasted little time in confirming their plans to resume under alert level two

Rugby and netball have wasted little time in confirming their plans to resume under alert level two

Within minutes of Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern confirming professional sport could resume behind closed doors when the level drops, both organisations announced plans to return to play.

The NRL is still deciding what will happen to players who refuse to have a flu vaccination.

Three Canberra players have joined Titans star Bryce Cartwright in refusing to get the jab.

Warriors utility Nathaniel Roache will fly to Australia today, after illness kept him from the squad's flight over on Sunday.

Team management have confirmed Roache has been cleared to travel to Sydney.

He will be in isolation in Sydney for a fortnight before joining the team.

Former Waikato coach and globetrotting rugby identity George Simpkin has died aged 76,.
