Angela Blackmoore was murdered in 1995 - as her two-year-old son slept in the next room.
In late February, 45-year-old Jeremy Powell pleaded guilty to beating her to death - claiming he was offered 10-thousand dollars to do so.
Last year a woman was also charged over the killing - and on Wednesday a 47-year-old Wanaka man was arrested and also charged with the murder.
Today his lawyer appeared at the High Court in Christchurch on his behalf.
The accused will appear again next week for a bail application.
