West Auckland police are warning people they should only search their own sections for a missing French teenager

Eloi Rolland hasn't been seen for two months.

Detective Senior Sergeant Callum McNeill says police search and rescue teams have covered most tracks in the Waitakere Ranges and are still looking for the 18-year-old.

He says civilian searches have also been taking place and are planned again for this weekend.

But McNeill says while police appreciate the concern and good intentions of those people - they do need to stick to their bubbles under alert level three.

He says police don't want members of the public getting lost and having to be rescued.
