The competitive nature of New Zealand derbies is being seen as a positive for fans

Super Rugby Aotearoa will only feature matches between the five New Zealand sides.

Derbies are notorious for their physicality and the toll they take on the players, but All Blacks strength and conditioning coach Nic Gill says every game will be a spectacle.

Nic Gill says having two byes in the ten week competition will help spread the intensity and load.
