Police have been on high alert for anyone breaking Alert Level Three restrictions

Police have been on high alert for anyone breaking Alert Level Three restrictions

The first weekend since lock down saw hundreds of excited New Zealanders breaking the rules.

It was feared it would happen again this weekend, but no major issues were reported overnight.

As of 6PM yesterday police had seen 1,001 breaches of the Civil Defence Emergency Management Act or Health Acts.

That's led to 241 prosecutions, 688 warnings and 72 youth referrals.
