The government's taking a joint venture approach to ending family and sexual violence

The government's taking a joint venture approach to ending family and sexual violence

Through the 2020 Budget, the Social Development Ministry's getting 183-million-dollars over four years - focused on family violence services.

A cross-agency initiative between Police, Justice and Health will also be launched for victims of non-fatal strangulation.

Justice Under-Secretary Jan Logie says the government's responding to a national crisis that's increased pressures on families - with more victims now isolated.

She says changes that need to be made will come from the Budget initiatives.
