Fonterra is on course to inject 11 billion dollars into the economy this year

Agriculture was labelled essential during the lockdown and able to continue operating.

The company's set a milk price for the coming year of 5 dollars 40 to 6 dollars 90 per kilo of milk solids -- an unusually wide range due to uncertainly around covid-19.

Chief executive Miles Hurrell says the lockdown worked in their favour.

He says out of home consumption has declined, but the retail business has gone very well for them in the third quarter -- as people bought milk, cheese and yoghurt to take home.
