A homicide investigation has been launched following a shooting at St Johns, in Auckland

A homicide investigation has been launched following a shooting at St Johns, in Auckland

A man was later found dead on Parkfield Terrace in Grafton.

Detective Inspector Lloyd Schmid says the dead man was in a dark coloured Mazda with three others.

He says it seems they met up with another vehicle on St Johns Road, and a number of shots where fired.

The car carrying the man then stopped on Parkfield Terrace and called emergency services.

Police are urging anyone with information to get in touch.
