Principals are giving the tick of approval to a scheme allowing extra credits for secondary school students whose learning's been disrupted by Covid-19

Education Minister Chris Hipkins announced students will get one extra credit for every five they earn - to a maximum 10 extra credits at level one and eight at level two and three.
Secondary Principals Association Deidre Shea says it takes account of learning time that's been lost for so many students.
She says it's based on student learning and achievement - and it's incentivising for them.
