Otago University researchers have published a major study which reveals the different effects cannabis can have on people.
The study says nearly 80 percent of Kiwis born in the 1970s have used cannabis at least once - but only those who used it frequently suffered adverse effects.
Say Nope to Dope spokesperson Aaron Ironside says people need to be aware that cannabis now contains more THC than it did in the 70s, and there's more risk associated with its use.
He says the effects are more disastrous than they've ever been before.
