Despite all evidence to the contrary, nearly 80-percent of parents in a Christchurch survey thought it likely their child would catch Covid-19... if schools were opened in Alert Level 3

A University of Otago, Christchurch, study surveyed just under 1200 parents...and only seven-percent thought transmission of the virus was unlikely.

But Associate Professor Tony Walls says it goes against the health information from the Government - which he says parents thought was excellent.

He says part of his survey looked at where parents got their information from, and people found the daily health briefings the most trusted source of information.
