Blues skipper Patrick Tuipulotu's signed an extension, joining Sam Whitelock, Brodie Retallick and Scott Barrett.
Whitelock will be 35 in 2023 and Retallick 32, while Tuipulotu will be 30 and ready to pounce if the incumbents' legs fade ahead of France.
Tuipulotu and Barrett, a few months younger, could be well placed with Whitelock missing out on the All Blacks captaincy and therefore not being first name on coach Ian Foster's teamsheet.
