Last year, about 18-percent of pregnancies ended in a termination, compared with 25-percent in 2003.
Only 10-percent were for teens, whereas 23 percent were in 2007.
Stats NZ says the drop over the past decade coincides with Pharmac funding long-acting reversible contraception, Jadelle, from 2010.
New Zealand's abortion figures are similar to rates in the US and Scotland, but much lower than in England and Wales.
