Shelly Bay Road on the Miramar Peninsula is closed this morning due to a large landslip.
Other smaller slips have come down in Thorndon and Newtown and the Naenae train station subway is flooded.
Meanwhile, a heavy rain warning also remains in force for northern Canterbury, coastal Marlborough, eastern Bay of Plenty and the Gisborne Ranges.
Road snowfall warnings remain for the Lewis Pass, Arthur's Pass and Porters Pass.
