H&J Smith will close its Dunedin department store early next year

It's also shutting the Armoury Store in Dunedin's Wall Street precinct.
Eighty-five employees will be affected.
H&J Smith Group managing director Jason Smith says the company's been significantly impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, and is grappling with increasing wage and compliance costs, store size and an ageing store network.
