Firearms laws are set to be ramped up in the coming months... and it's timely after yesterday's incident in West Auckland

Two Police officers were shot in Massey, leaving one dead, and another in hospital with serious injuries.
On Thursday night, the Arms Legislation Bill passed its third and final reading.
The Bill will introduce stronger penalties and tighter licensing rules, as well as a better firearms tracking register.
Police Association president Chris Cahill says the escalation of firearms in the hands of criminals is a significant threat to the public, and police officers.
He says yesterday's incident proves why there've been significant changes to arms legislation.
