The Wellington Phoenix are buoyed by the return of a key defender when the A-League football season returns.

Despite undergoing season-ending surgery in November, fullback Louis Fenton has declared himself fit for selection for when their campaign resumes.

Fenton has been able to amp up physical activity recently.




The club departed for Sydney today, where they will self-isolate for 14 days.

They're set to face league-leaders Sydney FC in their first match on July 17.



The Mainland Tactix have overcome the Southern Steel in their ANZ Premiership Netball clash, thanks to an impressive third quarter.

The Tactix have won 43-36 in Auckland, outscoring the Steel by seven in the third quarter to open up a healthy lead, proving enough for victory.

Tactix shooter Ellie Bird made 31 of 39 goals.



And in Super Rugby Aotearoa last night, The Blues beat the Chiefs in Hamilton - the Auckland team scoring two tries to nil to win 24-12.
